Our Story

In 2019, QM’teck, TTL Foundation, and the Ober Community Center launched a pilot STEM program in St. Paul, Minnesota. With Ober Community Center providing classroom space and resources, the program quickly proved its value. More than 50 students eagerly participated, supported by parents who were excited to see their children explore robotics, coding, and drone technology for the very first time.

The pilot was a success — students built robots, coded projects, and developed problem-solving skills that built confidence and curiosity. Parents and families described the program as a source of hope and opportunity. However, despite its impact, the program was paused due to challenges with long-term sustainability and funding.

Today, with our communities continuing to grow, the program is more crucial than ever. Research shows that students from low-income backgrounds have less access to high-quality STEM learning opportunities, creating a lasting gap in academic achievement and career readiness:

  • Only 22% of students from low-income families participate in extracurricular STEM programs, compared to 57% of their higher-income peers (Afterschool Alliance, 2020).

  • By 2025, an estimated 3.5 million STEM jobs will need to be filled in the U.S., yet underserved communities remain the least represented in these pathways (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics).

  • Early STEM engagement — especially through hands-on robotics and coding — is linked to higher graduation rates and increased pursuit of STEM careers (National Science Foundation).

For underserved families, especially those relying on government assistance, the cost of private STEM programs creates an impossible barrier. Without intervention, many children in these neighborhoods risk being excluded from the innovation economy of the future.

TEK Inspired exists to close this gap. We are committed to restarting and expanding programs that give every child — regardless of income, race, or zip code — the chance to explore robotics, coding, drones, and other future-focused technologies. Every child deserves the opportunity to dream, create, and lead in tomorrow’s world, and TEK Inspired is here to make that possible.

STEM Access for Every Child.

Every child deserves the opportunity to discover robotics, coding, and innovation — regardless of income or background. Together with community partners and supporters like you, we’re building pathways that close the STEM gap and unlock a future of possibility for underserved youth.

“We close the STEM opportunity gap by bringing robotics, coding, drone and maker education to communities that need it most.
